English speaking tours are offered on Sundays and Thursdays. Get to see the Chagall tapestries and mosaic. Learn about the Israeli government and political system. Best of all, the tour is free. I've visited many museums, historical and religious sites in Israel. This is one of the best presentations.

The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, it the beating heart of the democracy in Israel. While most of the debates held in the Knesset are rather boring for visitors (and are held in Hebrew), they demonstrate just how the only Democracy in the Middle East works. Worth a visit.

When visiting the Knesset, you get a first-hand understanding how amazing the Israeli democracy is. Nothing in the middle east functions like it. You will be exposed to history but also to everyday decision making.

On my previous two visits to this blocky concrete structure I took the public tour which was interesting but limited, but on this visit my small group was honored with a private hour-long meeting with an elected member/leader of the Knesset who spoke to us quite honestly and candidly about the country's issues and the elections coming up in January... This was a short walk from our hotel and it was great to see. The Knesset was closed as the government had called for a parliamentary election. The security was present and they were even friendly, willing to discuss the life and problems they had.
