A small, free museum showing old photographs of Doha with a few artifacts. It's interesting to see how the city has developed over the last 50 years, but you can cover most of the museum part in 10 minutes. The exhibition is clearly sponsored by the developer of the Msheireb project (located next to Souk Waqif) as the second half... More

You can't miss this, particularly if you enjoy architecture. Msheireb is the key state sponsored urban renewal development project. It's a world class project with impressive adoption of modern green building and historical Qatari design practices. The interactive displays do a remarkable job telling the project and Qatar's development narrative.

I thought this was going to be more of a place to learn about Qatari culture and history, really it is a glorified presentation of a real estate development in downtown. They do have a pretty high tec to scale model that is lite below from a screen.

This is an interesting place to walk through. They have some good information about Doha 60 years ago. Unfortunately, there is a big gap in the history presented with a sudden jump to 1994. We would have liked to have seen more information in the middle.

We happened to visit the center based on it's location and were pleasantly surprised by all it has to offer. Entrance is free, the interiors are warm and inviting, staff attentive and extremely cordial. We were greeted by Qatari nationals that explained the significance and history of Doha, the city center, social influences and the roles these played on the... More

Anchored off the Cornice it was hand to get to. It helped us understand the changes people are experiencing because of oil and gas money and the attempt to regain traditional values. This attempt is a huge urban development project. The visit to this center is free, air conditioned and professionally done.

The models of the new downtown area are interesting and they have a number of artifacts from the past. I liked the pictures of old Doha in the 1950's.
