This ride rocked! It was so much fun and so rewarding. I'm very happy the bus ride UP the road happened AFTER we'd ridden down - the bus ride was absolutely the scariest part because you could see how far you could go over the side. While biking, you concentrate on the road. Make sure to zip line afterward -... More

Cycling this as part of an organised group was definitely the highlight of my South American adventure. The scary pictures you always see aren't particularly representative of the whole thing with some of it being tarmaced and I didn't encounter half the traffic I thought I would seeing as it's no longer the main route (so I was told anyway).... Highly recommend death road, not as dangerous as everyone makes out. We went with Pro Downhill- fantastic company felt completely safe. Got all the gear - full face helmet or mullet helmet (although be careful some helmets have cracks in just ask for a different one), elbow pads, knee pads, trousers, jacket and gloves. we had plenty of stops. I... More

Wow!! I did the death road yesterday, it was one of the best experiences in my entire life so far. I was scared at first because I saw photos and videos of people going really fast, but once I realized the bikes are safe, I raced down like a lunatic!! We chose the tour from Pirwa hostel, they work with... More

If I had been given the choice of going on death road or not I would have said 'no'. As it was we ended up there because our planned excursion was cancelled. It scared the living daylights out of me, but like all rollercoasters, you sort of enjoy it at the end. I'm glad I did it - the views... More

Death road with Vertigo biking is one of my best experiences since travelling. I definately recommend going with this cimpany. Me and my friends all had a great experience. The bikes and safety equipment were high quality. The guides were excellent and gave good advice on how to handle the road and made sure you were well prepared. Regular stops... More

The route from La Paz to Coroico has been one of those unforgettable experiences in life. Don't let yourself intimidate by the cliff on the side of the road since the guides know what they are doing and the bikes are very decent and safe. Just enjoy the whole day ride as you go through all possible kind of landscapes.... More

Just got back from doing the death road mountain biking trip with Pro-Downhill. I cannot recommend this company enough. We paid 450 bolivianos. We had double suspension bikes (a must have, the road is very very bumpy), 6 people to a guide and all the safety gear. The best bit about pro-downhill though is that they leave at 8.30, later... One of the best places i been to and the mountainbiking down is amazing to say the least. I feelt much more comfortable then i would expect and all the guides and soo on are really proffesional. So i cant really say anything more then just do it! Wont regret it!
