Good if you're into Arabic AKA Islamic architecture and such. If not, don't worry about it. Right in the heart of the city, close to Khan El Khalili, so shouldn't be too much trouble getting there and back.

After visiting this house, this is what I imagine when reading about life in Cairo a few centuries ago. Can't believe how many pictures I took here!

This is a little gem, about 1/2 mile from Khan El Khalili. It has been beautifully restored and is well worth a visit. On Sunday evenings they have a free concert with Egyptian music - very atmospheric.

This small old house is located at one of the side streets branched from the main street of the old islamic cairo. It is an example of houses during the osmanic period. It is actually two houses joined together. The house is built around a garden with a fountain in the middle, the rooms are floored by marble, roofed by... More

I confess I am a fan of 'house' museums as I think they give you a more intimate view of history with a taste of how people lived. Admittedly this is an example of how the very wealthy lived. The house is not easy to find, it is in a warren of alleys some of which were clearly part of... More

I feel that it have experienced the old time nobles life will visiting the Moaz LaDien Allh st. and Bayt Al-Suhaymi. To enjoy it you must take a tour guide especially that there are no explanation boards to be read.
