I had seen the Happy Valley Racecourse on TV many times as I grew up, so Wednesday night at the races was always going to be a must-see. As we had friends also staying in Hong Kong, we decided to book the same Viator tour as they did, what a good choice. It does seem a little expensive as the... More

Great night out. A tourist pass was very cheap and gave access to the the parade ring and winning post. There was a live band between races and in my opinion better than any courses I have been to in the Uk.

I go here quite regularly when I have guests in Hong Kong. I am fortunate to live on the island side so I can get the tram directly and this is also a typical Hong Kong activity you must not miss - so long as you aren't in too much of a hurry! We usually go in a group and... More

You must visit this racecourse. Best accessed by tram as the public enterance on the far side is not really that close to a train station, this place cannot be beaten for excitement, people (and horse) watching and atmosphere. The info desks under the grandstand will help you place a bet and the food is great for a large venue... More

Had a great night there. Paid hk$100 for tourist seating and able to stroll around. Accommodation just over the road. Also the 4 cemeteries opposite are worth a visit if you like history.

Great event on wednesday, we went around 9pm, when the entry was free for all. The staff very helpful on how to place a bet, and the races were exciting. amazing place, big splat of green in an otherwise space hungry city. DO it if you are there on a wednesday

The revenue that the HK Royal Jockey Club generates is incredible. Races on Wednesdays and Saturdays attract the locals for the entire racing session. The Shatin racetrack is on alternate Wednesdays, and Saturday races are always in Happy Valley. It is quite a place for tourists to see the hugh amount of bet on each race.
