They are makers of Uniquely Designed Handmade Crafts and Accessories that are made from natural Palawan materials like hand picked river stones and rocks, drift woods, sticks, twigs and leaves, animal bones, shells, seeds, sea glass, feathers, a piece of cloth or leather, any handed over things and some found objects from around the surroundings. They also use natural beads such as gem stones or mineral stones, animal bones and horns, seeds, coconut shell beads, bamboo twigs beads, sea shells, wood beads and clay beads which is always best to adorn their work.Kaingud pronounced as (Ka-i-ngud) in Cuyunon or Hiligaynon meaning neighbor or someone next to or beside you. "Kaingud" was an a.k.a for the two partners who began their adventure 6 years ago as gypsys when they traveled and moved from place to place around the Philippines selling their handmade crafts. Until they have decided to put all their crafts in a small 2 by 3 meters booth in the Barakalan sa Turismo Comp. in Rizal Ave. For 4 years they strive to continue even if theres only a few people who knew the place and appreciate their own kind of art. Last February 2011 while strolling the long street of Rizal Ave., the partner had a glimpse of a vacant place near the airport and immediately ask if its for rent. Now after 6 months, a little hut, which depicts a typical native Palawan hut, has been established to be the main showroom of Kaingud Products. « less

I was soo lucky to hv met 'Pagasa', the beautiful owner when I dropped by. Her name means Hope. I admired her wide assortment of accessories and items. And how she meticulously explained to me the materials she used & how she remembers all the names of the stone, shell, blade of grass, roots, and so on, she used in... More
