Graveyards, smoke houses, wet markets, gun batteries, the city’s best-kept secret places. You name it, we have it. Since 2003, the Walks led by an eclectic bunch of researcher-guides have taken locals and travellers alike off the beaten track, and entertained with an endless store of anecdotes that reveal the true heart of the city. Enjoyed our tour of Chinatown from a historical perspective. Geraldine did a great job painting a picture of what life was like for the early laborers and the brothels. We enjoyed it very much - even seeing the current brothels (from outside)! More

We went on the Original Singapore Walk - The Sultan's of Spice Our guide was Carol Joy and she was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and took us to see places we would never have found on her own. She was very respectful of the Muslim culture, explaining the customs and culture well, Visitng the shops and locales added to... More

I recently moved to Singapore and am very keen to learn as much as possible about its culture an d history. I did the Colonial District Walk in late April and had a fantastic time. The guide (Carol Joy) is literally a joy to be with. She's local and very knowledgeable about everything in Singapore, so it was a wonderful... More

I experienced two walking tours while in Singapore, both by the Original Singapore Walks. This is such a "Must do" experience while in Singapore if you want to understand what you're seeing. Carol was by far the best of the two guides. I learned much and it gave many deeper layers to what I was viewing. The Time Of the... More

The Time of Empire tour begins in the early 1800's when Singapore became an outpost of the British Empire. Our guide (Carol) was excellent and her presentation fascinating. Our small group of 6 decided we could go longer than noon, and she added in history of the Japanese occupation. One of the highlights is the top floor of the Supreme... More

On a recent visit to Singapore we took 4 diverse walking tours exploring different ethnic areas with Original Singapore Walks. Despite having visited many of the areas before, the detailed information & quirky stories provided by the entertaining guides offered a much greater in depth experience than could be achieved through self exploration. Tours are well structured & concise. The... More

I went on the Kampong Gom walking tour of the Arab street area. The tour was fantastic. I did this on my last day in Singapore, so I was not able to experience any of the other tours. If I ever get back to Singapore, the walking tours will be the first thing I do!! Carol, our guide, was so... More

My 11 year old son and I took part in the Changi Prison and Chapel tour and it was exceptionally well done. The guide was personable and had many stories to share about Japanese occupied Singapore. The bus picked us up at the MRT station and took us first to the Changi Museum and our guide walked us through the... More

We visit Singapore many times, each time we plan to do a couple of Original Walks. We do this during the early days of our arrival, so we can go back to explore, see, shop and eat on our own. Our memorable Walks are to: (1) Little India - to experience the Indian community way of doing business, life style,... More

When my friend and I visited Singapore in March 2011 and we went on 3 walks - Little India, Kampong Glam and the Chinatown Night Walk. They were all excellent and our guides Pauline and Savita were wonderful. Both have wonderful personalities and tremendous knowledge based on personal experience and research. We were so impressed with Singapore and 'Walks' that... More
