What happened to this place? It only opened in 2005, but it looks like a forgotten relic of the '80s or something. The signs point to things like fine restaurants, shopping, and a discoteca, none of which actually exist. The buildings are completely abandoned and the escalator is covered in ripped plastic sheeting. Somehow VolQano Park, a tiny, sad amusement... More

We went up the teleferico on a week day morning, no crowds, no rain. the ride was fun. after we got off we walked up into the hills on a trail leading to the peak of Pichincha. The altitude made it a little strenuous but the air was cool, clean and refreshing. The clouds were rising up from the valleys... More

Teleferico is one of the places that you have to visit when you visit the City.; the only bad thing I see is I get scary when I was at 5100 meters.

If you have a chance to visit, this is a great way to view the city of Quito. The best time to visit is in the morning on a clear day, the lines are shorter and the views are better without the afternoon clouds. If you are coming from an area of low elevation, best to try this towards the... More

This was by far the highlight of our visit to Quito. Other Quito attractions including churches and the old town are quite mediocre. But this is truly a unique, memorable and lovely spot which is worth visiting in Quito. It was very easy to get to. For us a $5 cab ride from Hotel Quito. We had a nice cable... More

Choose a clear day (mornings are usualy best) and take a taxi to the base of the cablecar for an exciting ride up Pichincha. The capsules you ride in are quite small, suitable for about four to six people with seats so the ride is comfortable. There are great views as you travel and even better ones when you reach... More

Easy to get there, 15 minutes ride to the top. Besides the views of the city there is not anything else to do.

The teleferico cable car does offer great views of Quito but that was about it. I had read and expected cafes, souvenir stores and bike rides. The whole area looked abandoned for at least a year. there was one coffee shop with a dirty looking kitchen so we gave that a miss. If you want to cycle down the mountain... More

We took a taxi here around 9 in the morning for about 4 dollars. To get up with the teleférico we paid 8,5 dollars per person and there were no que at that time. When we got to the top it was an amazing view over the city! The weather was great so you definitely want to go there when... More

I always like to get an overall sense of a city from high above, and the Telerifico offers an envigorating way to do so. You get to ride up in a tram, but the real pleasure is walking along clearly marked paths to various vista points that offer expansive looks at city and volcanic sights. As someone who hikes weekly... More
