nice view to the city and nice walk to get there, but castle is really not much - very small and not much to see
The castle is visible from parts of upper Zagreb and when lit up at night is a very impressive sight. There is not much to do or see on the inside of the castle so I would recommend making it a stop as part of a hike on Mt. Medvednica or on the way to Mt.Slijeme.
From Medvedgrad Castle you have view on whole Zagreb city. The castle itself is in pretty bad condition.

The track is well signposted, but is very steep in parts and the climb is only suitable for the fit. Because it is in the forest... More
The castle per se is not that amazing, but it offers you an amazing view over Zagreb (It's a little far away), and it's worth the journey, because it's not the easiest place to get too. nice castle but there is nothing to do, long walk or if you go with car it is hard to find no sings.

The road to Medvedgrad is limited to car transport only, so you may take cheap taxi Cameo to climb up and return walking down using public transport. This is due to the fact... More
They're patching up the old fortress for years and can't seem to finish it still. Oh, the view from this old lady is simply amazing. There's a restourant there and the temperatures are lower then in the city itself. Medvedgrad is the first settlement in Zagreb although the city developed 'under it'.If you're coming to Zagreb during summer you might... More
