We took a walk down Avienda Central while visiting a little park in downtown Panama City.
The most interesting part was seeing the Panamanians who were in the park. It is a great place for them to gather and visit with one another.
There were dozens of vendors selling lottery tickets, and some vendors selling very good looking fruit.

This long stretch of road is a pedestrian zone filled with locals. You'll see all the local bargain shops, a few internet cafes, tons of street vendors with fresh juice/fruits/coconuts, sports stores, and cell phone stores. It's great people watching, but there's not really anywhere to sit. It's a nice way to pass a little time (an hour?!) to have...

The Av. Central artisans markets is quite a site to see in the Caledonia district of Panama City. There is all types of local artisan crafts & souvenirs to be found. Worth a trip to look.
It's not an area to be at night, but the markets are closed then. Cost of cab from Paitilla for us was $2 incl....
