Our tour guide for Historic Houses tour was enthusiastic and well informed. I saw houses (inside, too!) that I had never seen in my years of visiting Nantucket. It was a great balance of building styles and life styles over the years. Just the right amount of time. I would tour again in a heartbeat with NHA.

While we have been to Nantucket many times, there is a lot about her history that we do not know. This tour and several hours spent in the Whaling Museum were wonderful learning experiences.

We are delighted that you had an opportunity to take a walking tour with us - especially during this splendid fall weather! It is a truly wonderful way to learn about the people and place that make this island's history so fascinating. We are thrilled you visited the Whaling Museum as well and look forward to seeing you again soon. More

Very knowledgeable guide on our walking tour, and lots to learn. It certainly sticks with you better hearing it rather than reading it. Nantucket played a pivotal role in world commerce during its whaling days, and you are remiss if you don't learn about it!

The guide knew the town currently and in history. My husband and I enjoyed 2 walking tours, one early morning and one mid morning. The tour about the Great Writers on Nantucket was especially interesting.

My husband and I took the daily 11:15 hour-long (or so) walking tour of downtown, and it was a great introduction to everything we'd see on the rest of our four-day visit. The guide painted a vivid picture of life during the whaling heyday, the 1846 fire that burned much of the downtown, and the extraordinary connection Nantucket has always... More

I chose a historical walking tour of downtown rather than a visit to the museum. We were at Nantucket for one day and our time was tight. While the walking tour was informative, it was longer than stated (it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes) and wasn't quite as interesting as I had hoped.

We took a walking tour of historic homes on our most recent visit to the island. Our guide was knowleable and enthusiastic, and the tour included historic homes that represented different parts of Nantucket history. This tour was one of the highlights of our visit and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys architecture and history.

As a disturbingly particular consumer of historical tours, I was delighted with the NHA's walking tour of downtown Nantucket. Our guide, a resident of the city, knew the wonderful but slightly obscure facts that amplified and intensified the discussions. On occasion, we play "stump the guide," but she was completely up to the task when we visited the island. Learn... More
