I have visited many walled cities, but none compare to Old Town Dubrovnik. It is absolutely the cleanest walled city I have seen. The streets wind around to hidden little corners where you will find shops and restaurants that cater to every taste. If you are looking for big name brands go elsewhere. More

Lots of alleys, and shops, and museums, and Churches. Markets,restaurant, a surprise round every corner. Clean and very special. More

The main street was wide and lovely. the outdoor restaurants off that street were better value especially when a musician is playing marvellous guitar melodies. The back streets were quaint and in shadow from bright sun. We liked it all. More

Dubrovnik was bombed during the independence wars of the 1990's but most of the damaged buildings seem to have been sympathetically restored. Good for a week's visit with great depth of history in a spectacular location. The only downsides are the crowds, the cruise ship invasions and its more expensive than it should be. More
