A unique view into the technology of romanians from the past. A must visit for any tourist. My favourite place in Sibiu.

Firstly this is not is Piata Mica as the Tripadvisor address suggests. The reviews here (and this one) refer to what is also known as the folk museum about 5km south west of town. Secondly - getting there and back is easy there is a bus from the railway station direct to the museum, its the last stop and this...

...this is how I felt like when visiting ASTRA. Located like 3 km from Sibiu, easy to find, this museum is like a big, beautiful history park, shows you a lot about Transylvanian values, it's outstanding! There is a "Village Museum" in Bucharest also but you cannot compare it. You can visit ASTRA in summer or winter, you'll get the...

Doesn't stand for what you'd usually call a museum. It's park where you really go back in time. It's a place where you can either enjoy the nature or get to know the traditional Transylvanian culture. You'll need more than one day if you want to explore it's every corner.
This museu displays in a beautiful landscape the great variety of the Romanian village architecture and folk culture. Traditional houses have been brought there from all over Romania to demonstrate the richness of rural llfe in this country. The restaurants inside the museum offer great Romanian food. With a bit of luck you may have the opportunity to listen to...
