This one is called The Floating Mosque because it is actually built in the sea and at high tide, it virtually seems to be floating in the water. It is also one of at least four Mosques on Cornaich / Sea Side

A nice place to join prying with enjoying the sea side. Giving a relaxing view at the sunset. A lot of Muslims visiting Makkah for Omerah are coming to relax in this mosque
I managed to see the floating mosque in real life during my umrah visit. The mosque is ofcourse beautiful and amazing how it crosses into the water holding onto the foundations. However i have seen some pictures where the mosque looks pink with blue domes. i guess this was down to photoshop effects..
I've never been inside, but the outside is spectacular. You must see it from both sides and different times of the days. The way the light reflects off the white exterior makes for a fun day of photographing. It sits on pilings in the water, but has the illusion of floating.
Beautifull mosque, calm invironment, located in corniche street, about 3 km from sheraton hotel, one of major attraction in jeddah, saw many tourist bus thier, after visit mosque, there is sitting area near by to sit with kids and have beautifull look of red sea.

It is on the northern end of the Corniche, which...

The interior of the mosque is beautiful and the sunset as shown in the picture really looks stunning. Visited by Jeddah residents as well as...

However as we walked nearer, we can smell the stench from the toilet, the water supply in the toilet was not adequate and it caused difficulties...

We stopped here for Maghrib prayers on our homeward bound journey. we agree that the view was stunning but as we walked towards the prayer room there was an awful stench from the waters below. tis a pity the bathrooms were not mantained well and taking ablution for prayers was an ordeal. We hope those concerned would do something quick...
