This reserve offers a great antidote to the hustle and bustle of Shenzhen (not to mention the city's many theme parks). Rent a bike or do some bird watching or just spend time on the boardwalk admiring the vistas of the city. It is the only nature reserve in an urban center in all of China.

A nice place to visit. Quite large, fresh air, excellent for riding bikes, hiking, photography, bird watching, and enjoying the out doors. Nice view of the bay and Hong Kong. Stand type food, for example, coconut juice, fruit, nuts, potatoes, mostly things like that. Bike rentals also available. See Shenzhen Mangrove Nature Reserve and Shenzhen Bay Park

The reserve was closed by the police or army when I was there. It should be nice to visit if it ever fully re-opens.
