I was searching for a cash (geocaching) in this area in March and all was open(off seson)could go inside and look arround . The entire area was nice with great view on the see and surrounding mountiens.the cab was not operating yet. Nice calm romantic place.

Give yourself a full day for this place. The zoo itself is a delight, then there is a gondola ride over the mountain to see the rest of it.

This area is a sprawling zoo by acres (yes acres!) from end to end. If you like animals and have lots of energy to walk all day then visit this place. Check the tigers and hyaenas when being fed, pet the camels / giraffes and adore the shy lazy Panda. :)
