There is nothing special as such about this street- okay to spend an hour or so browsing in the shops and having a bite to eat but definitely not a 'must see'.

If you can't think of anything better to do than this Disney look alike then maybe you're in the wrong country . The first contributer got it right in one and he should know . There's so much else in and around Chengdu to see and do that's good your wasting time here .

If you want to experience real ancient China avoid this place. The 'ancient' streets are lined with awful tasteless market stalls, bars and coffee shops. Jinli is a reproduction of an ancient commercial street, but it can be fun and interesting. Entry to the street (actually a few streets in all) is free. The place has lots of places to eat and drink and some places to shop. Bars are only busy in the evenings. The key to enjoying this place is to SLOW DOWN.... More

This is a wonderful area to just wander and admire the surroundings. The gardens and water features are beautiful while it's also a great place for people watching and just absorbing all of the sights, sounds and smells. You have to visit this area if you go to Chengdu.

Gave it a better than average rating as one can get to taste the various local snacks all in one place. Interesting architectural buildings - not sure if they were the real ones or have been restored. Good and interesting enough for a visit.

Jinli street is a very famous tourist place in Chengdu. Its near Wohuci Daije Temple. Jinli street entry is free. I went many times to this place. Every time, like the place more and more. It's nice place to understand about old Chinese traditional market. you will see, lot of traditional sellers of sweet candies, many fruit sweet candy, etc.... More

Old style Chengdunese culture street, especially great in the evening with the red lights on. It also contains many interesting things - traditional Chinese cafe with local wines, sugar cane drinks, arrow shooting, ear massage, lollypop making. But the best thing is the snack street with cheap and extremely tasty local snacks!

I would not spend more than 1 hour there, preferably in the evening as it is nice when the lights are up. Not a place to find solitude or have a quiet romantic meal though!
