On my tour, we got to get off the bus and go on several tours of buildings. This is a real cathedral so we just went in and took a few pictures and then left. They were doing communion while I was there and it was exciting to watch as it is very formal. The church is beautiful and I... More

I believe churches should be free to all people and not charge. A donation is acceptable but not required. This is a prominent church and lovely. Not the best in Central or South America but nice. I personally would skip it and go to the churches in Bogota for more wow and no cost.

The historic value of this place is amazing, was bombarded many times by pirates, but at same time the citizens of old cartagena defended fierily many died in the battles, today It stand as the Old Lady, a worthy photo winner.

Sat in front of a fan and listened to the short audio guide about the history of the church. Entertaining enough with pirates and sound effects. The church itself isn't the prettiest I have seen but it was a great, peaceful break before heading back out into the streets. Located close to other museums so a lot of hawkers are... More

The Cathedral was closed both times we attempted to see it. Unfortunately by coincidence we visited the city during the weekend of the Feast of the Independence and many sights were closed. It was a big disappointment.

This cathedral is located next to the Plaza de Bolivar and is a smallish but impressive cathedral, well worth a visit, and a great place to take a rest from the sun.

I loved the audio tour with listening device that they have there. It very inexpensive and has it all. I recommend it highly. When you are done with this, then go to the Gold Museum right next to it in Plaza de Bolivar

This cathedral is located next to the Plaza de Bolivar and is a smallish but impressive cathedral, well worth a visit, and a great place to take a rest from the sun. I was most surprised to see many male visitors with their ball caps on in a church, which I found really disrespectful, but the Columbians are so good... More

Worth a visit, the old Cathedral of Cartagena. The old ceilings are amazing and the construction of the Cathedral is stunning.
