The metrocable is a fantastic way to get a different look at Medellin. Since it isn't really set up for tourism, but rather for public transportation, it is the same cost as taking a bus. A great quick afternoon trip.

The metrocable is a relaxing way to see the city from above, while enjoying a break from the craziness and crowded feel of the big city below. If you take it all the way to the park you can enjoy a long, beautiful ride for a cheap cost. If you'll be in Medellin, this is a must.
I must say, it is the best way to see Medellin. You see the pretty and the not to pretty in one shot. The cable cars go to areas that once took about 2 hours to get up to and made life much easier and accessible for people who live higher up the mountains. Those were also areas that were...

Its a metrocable, so yea, you are sitting the whole time, but the ride and veiws are amazing. it is also good to think about the fact that this is the first metrocable in the world created for daily public transport (vs for tourism). But it's great for tourists too.
Take the Metro to Acevedo; switch to Metrocable to Santo Domingo. If you want, then you can pay an extra 4000 pesos to go up to Parque Arvi. While you get good views from Santo Domingo, the first 10 minutes of the ride up to Parque Arvi (which is about 25 minutes one way) is absolutely stunning in terms of...

Is a very smart solution for the transportation in this city surrounded by hills, nice part of the massive transportation system in the city
Amazing views of the city. Make sure to stop at the biblioteca in santo domingo, its a great social project. Overall the metro is very clean, inexpensive and easy to use.
Either take a taxi or the metro to Acevedo station, where you'll pay 1,500 pesos for a ticket to Santo Domingo station which is the last stop on this cable line and almost at the top of the hillside. The view of Medellin from the cable car is great. The cable car takes you above a very dense and interesting...
