We went on a boat trip in the reserve and saw many elephants and birds and a couple monitor lizard. The boat ride was just ok and at times seemed very staged, but it was great to see the elephants.

only early morning trip 6.00am is advisable I went in 7.30 am trip and did not find any animal except jungle cow. Or stay in aranya nivas of ktdc and plan the best time to see animals
A boat ride in Periyar lake in the morning is most wonderfull experience, its is huge lake. There is a old Raja Mahal in side the Sanctuary and now the Govt is running a resort. We can see all types of animals, We watched elephants, wild dogs, sambhars and different type of birds

No animals, very hot weather but time pass. We spent one day there. for the tickets we have to stand in a que. this is boring, but there is no other option.. Servie is OK
