Kumbhalgarh Fort take you to the journey of some hundred years back when mainly Rajput rules over the many riyasat of Rajasthan. Kumbhalgarh Fort is a mixture of Hindu & Muslim architecture where there is lotus flower and earthen lamps (diye) and moon-stars & Surahi. We can see there old age cooler which used to run from kerosene. But I... More

This is the place where Rana Pratap was born; you can see his birth place, plus the old and older palaces; quite a number of temples are also there; in the evening there is a light and sound show

There are hundreds of grand and amazing forts in India but this one is a steal! It's beautiful it's breathtaking and it's spectacular. It's a lesser know destination, perhaps that is why it's still unspoilt! Kumbhalgarh is a majestic quiet fort with a very wide wall that surrounds the fort. One can go on a long walk on the wall... About an hour from the main road between Jodhpur and Udaipur but well worth the detour. A very impressive fort. Whilst the inside is interesting but not spectacularly so it is the fort itself which is the main attraction. The walls are 36km long and contain the fort, temple and other buildings. The structure was started in the 15th century... More

The audio guide was included in the entrance fee and was wonderful. The gift shop and the other stalls at the exit had exquisite items at a good vlue without the usual hassle of shopping in India; I wish I hadn't bought anything before; I could have done all my shopping there.

Lovely fort with a lot of history - but not much to see inside ... the view from the top is great but if you have difficulty with climbing steep stairs you can spare yourself the effort and make do with views from near the base or at most up to the cannon room area. The Shiv Temple in the... More
