Dont miss this while in Ooty. The drive is through farms and rolling hills. Very scenic. You have to park your vehicle and rent a jeep through the biosphere where this is located. We saw waterfalls, bison, birds. Dont miss this.

Highly restricted area. Taking your vehicle is very difficult. You need to know some top officials in Forest dept. You get a ride of 6+6 kms inside a RF on a Forest Dept vehicle. If you are lucky you could see wild life. I saw lot of deers. Take care of leeches during rainy season.

The drive to Avalanchi is absolutely spectacular, and once you get to the lake inside the Nilgiri Ecosphere, where the lake is located, it takes your breath away.

This was the best place in our Ooty trip. It is some 30 Kms from the Ooty town and after a point you have to go further in the forest vehicle only. The forest department's Jeep takes you through the way between thick forest and when the reservoir starts you start to enjoy the nature in its full glory. With... More

This was originally called the Canada Power Project when it was set up sometime in the fifties. The lake at 2270m is on the... More
