Our hotel in Ubud put me in touch with Wayan as I wanted to take our three young daughters (aged 10, 7 and 5) through the rice paddies to see a bit more of the "real Bali". I corresponded with Wayan by email from Australia and requested if it would be possible to visit a local school. Wayan replied that... More

We spent an amazing day off the beaten track with Wayan Sumerta, our tour guide. We started in Laplapan, a traditional village about half an hour from our hotel in Ubud. We visited a family, toured their home and watched the preparation of offerings for the day. Then we were off trekking through rice fields. This was a most picturesque... More

We took the morning tour and found it to be very good value. Wayan is knowledgeable and it was just lovely to get away from the business of Ubud and out walking among the rice terraces. I would recommend this activity.

My husband and I did the walking tour earlier this week. We both enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a delight to get off the roads and see the countryside close-up. However, some parts of the walk were more of a hike and somewhat strenuous. Although I have been on many hikes, the slipperiness of some parts of the hike had... More

What a great way to spend a day in Ubud! Wayan was professional , friendly and very informative . The Jungle walk was my highlight, though the whole day made for a memorable experience.

Beautiful scenery and company. Great value for the walk, lunch, and water. Visit to Luwak coffee plantation which was informative and yummy. Learn about the culture and traditions in the hands of a friendly tour guide.

We signed up for a morning walk with Wayan and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Besides seeing a completely non-touristy side of Ubud, we learned everything we wanted to know about Bali culture, got a personal tour of a local family compound, became more familiar with traditional religious ceremonies and offerings, and walked through... Four of us went on the walk, and recommend it without reservation. We were collected at the villa where we are staying and driven to meet Wayon, the guide and manager. He showed us around his family compound, explaining how people live and work and worship, and maintain their traditional culture. Instead of having a standard script, he spoke naturally... More

We had a great morning withy Wayan. We were picked up promptly at out hotel and taken to his home village with a tour of his family compound and learned a little about Balinese family life. We then headed off into the countryside and left shops, cafes and villas behind. We found this the best part - being able to... More
