When touring the Holy Land, most "holy" sites have large churches built on them. At Nazareth Village, it may not be the exact site where Jesus lived, but it is the city, and it has been reconstructed to show what life was like in his time. The experience at Nazareth Village was more meaningful than at the churches for me.... More

Take a step back into time and see how people lived in Jesus' day. You meet shephards, see the sheep and how they are cared for. See the watchman in the watchtower, enter the temple there, and enjoy a meal cooked the way it was in Jesus' day.

This was wonderful to see how life in the first century was, they had chlldren playing and a shepherd with sheep and goat. Someone showing how carpentry was done and a lady spinning sheeps wool. We also had our lunch arranged for here (we were a group of 26) served similarly to 1st century it was lovely

A great opportunity to see what life was like 2000 years ago in the area. Being able to actually see a how a shepherd and his sheep work together, see threshing of the wheat, learn how wine was made and why it was made that way, see a functioning olive press and millstone at work, see what their kitchen would... This lovely village is a working town to reflect the living conditions that Jesus might have experienced. Unlike most museums, the docents are dressed in ancient clothes and can explain their crafts to the visitor. The video that prepares the visitor with the live experience of this museum was very well done. With the goats and sheep, children and adults... More

First Impressions: Located at the outskirts of Nazareth, just in front of the French Hospital, the Nazareth Village functions as an open-air museum. Based on solid New Testament scholarship and recent archeological finding, it's designed to depict the village life and culture in first-century Galilee, essentially when Jesus lived 2,000 years ago. Starting at £9 per person, the entrance fee... More

The Nazareth village is an open air museum. The visit is via a guided tour that takes an hour. Our guide was very good .In the village there are houses, terraced fields, wine and olive presses and crafts men all built and dressed in costumes to resemble those that would have been in the village in the 1st century. The place is... More

A brilliant place to vsisit regardless of faith or biblical interest. You have to visist the Basillica of the Annuniation and of course St Josephs Church right on the sea front (one of the most beautiful vhurches in all of Israel) An easy walk between both.

We LOVED the village and the tour guide that we had. He was great. We had a dinner after our experience there with friends from the Arabic Christian church there. Great experience all around. Buildings are built like first century...a living museum feel. Real archeology site there as well. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

The Nazareth village is a great place to help people understand the Nazareth of Jesus' time, as well as to increase understanding of the Bible.
