Our 3rd time in Hakone but our first at this great museum. Our boys 6 and 4, loved all the play areas and enjoyed the sculptures too. Us adults enjoyed the art and watching the kids have fun. The foot bath was well placed after walking around for a few hours. I highly recommend this museum for families with young... More

Its only competition in site and collection is the Maeght (SP?) in the south of France. Not cutting edge by 2012, but wonderful for 50s, 60s, 70s work. Wonderful. More

One of the best art museums I have ever seen. Most of the exhibition pieces are placed outside in the beautiful garden. The museum is also suitable for visits with kids. For me a must see in this area. I had never expect such a great museum in these mountains! More

This museum was our second choice after the Little Prince Museum, but since we couldn't catch the daylight in time, we had to "settle" with this one. We saw how wrong that ranking was once we got in there. Firstly, it is quite easy to find after the Gora station and it even has a nearer train station to it,... More

We spent a lovely spring afternoon here. Our children, 3 and 5 years old, had a great time. There are several sculptures to climb and explore just for kids. The grounds are large and beautiful. Highly recommended. More

A little expensive but the sculptures are wonderfully set out in a park of great natural beauty and perfectly set off against the landscape. More

We spent 3 hours going around the museum. We took our socks and shoes off and put our feet in the hot springs near the cafe at the end of the gardens. It was a beautiful museum. More

An array of Picasso's and Moore's. You really have to see it to believe it! All in the splendor of Hakone's natural beauty. More
