We had planned to go to Kek Lok Tong but the taxi driver took us to Perak Tong by mistake. So glad he did. Actually Ipoh itself is a city surrounded by mountain, most of it is Limestone, thus it had many temples built inside caves. There are several "temple" Caves I do not see this one reviewed ? - also note there are Caves WITHOUT temples! For years I was taken to the famous Perak caves but today did the lessor known Gua Kek Look Tong with Temple and the Gua Tempurung without temple. What a mistake to have missed these. Very nice one of the best Buddhist temple I have seen . Take the bus . Is located at Gunung Tasek and houses over 40 Buddha statues and many murals. More

One of the caves (forgot the name) had a sign outside that says you can feed the turtles with KangKong at the turtle pond. However, we went inside and could not find any turtle pond. We visited three of the cave temples and they are well worth the time. One is very natural and north of Ipoh. It is extremely large wonderful monuments, turtle pond and koi. The other two south of Ipoh are more ornate and very colourful. More

Perak Tong cave temple is located just north of Ipoh and is one of the oldest temples and famous for the murals. Must visit perak cave temple. there is a 450 steps to the top of the cliff. wear a good pair of walking shoe and camera. Has a fortune teller counter, can try it out too. More
