I went to visit this Minor Basilica of Sto. Niño on the third week of February this year. I visited Cebu then because of a scheduled interview I had in an Information Technology company based in this province. I took just one jeepney ride, 03L, from Brgy. Luz where I resided during my short stay here in Cebu that time.... More

It is the oldest Roman Catholic church established in the country, purportedly built on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú, a statue depicting the Holy Child Jesus was found in 1565 by Spanish explorers led by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.

This is a beautiful historic church. The interior and altar is beautiful. The Basilica is near the Magellan Cross. Worth visiting even if you are not a Catholic when in Cebu.

The interior archtecture was lovely, but the baloon vendors and "tourist trash" sellers were completely out of place there. I would not return.

The medevial church complex with spiritual atmosfere, many pilgrims waiting in queue to see Santo Nino statue. Very nice inner garden, nice and cheap souvenir shop. It is a MUST, if you are in Cebu.

Very beautiful church. I'm not religious at all and still the church impressed me. There wasn't mass when we were there and that was a shame. Friday and Sunday mornings and afternoons are good times to visit if you wanna see a mass.

My wife and I have been going to mass there since 2005. I love the historical aspects of the old basilica. If you're a history buff, you might find the "conquistadorian" imagery interesting. It is a very special place for Catholics and the Filipinos are very devout here. I kind of feel bad when I see just a few tourists... More

Religious or not, this is a place worth visiting! I was travelling with my two young daughters, 7 & 9 and they thought it was well worth seeing. To the side of the main church is a gallery that has amazing artworks and much information about the history of Cebu and the Philippines. The workmanship of the actual church is... More

The main sanctuary is awe inspiring, definitely worth stopping to see, even if your not Roman Catholic, The statuary is incredible. Was there for Easter Sunday Mass, very meaningful for me...
