Eveybody is talking about the elephant trunk hill. I personally did not thin it was any special. As all travel agencys bring you there, try to make the trip as short as possible and use the time more efficiently to visit other great things in the Guilin area - for example take the cable car on top of the mountain... We decided to visit the Elephant Trunk Hill as we only had one day in Guilin. It turned out to be very nice! You do have to pay an entrance fee, but it is worth it. There is a small cave you can visit on your climb up to the top which looks over the Li river and Guilin city.... More

I donot know what has that elephant trunk hill has, but if you will see it you will be mesmerized, sooooooo beautiful, a hill looking like an elephant with its trunk in the river as if drinking, the hill floating on the river a huge hill with green trees and grass and white stone shade on the side, the hill... We only saw the "elephant" from the river bank and it was included in the tour. If you had to pay to see it I would save my money. More

We visited this mainly as it was near our hostel. A medium-sized park - the main attraction is an elephant-shaped rock which you can walk up to get a view of the city. It's not the most spectacular, but it's a decent little walk. Bearing in mind it's paying, I'd say it was just okay. More

Kids had great fun climbing on the cement elephants in the river, but you need a good imagination to see an elephant....... worth the visit however as the kids had fun More

nothing very exciting here. We went on a boat ride on the river, which was very nice. We had a nice long chat with the boatman and learnt a lot about how the locals live in Guilin and in China. Wherever we go, we always love to hear about how the locals live, real life stories. So enriching. More
