Very nice gardens (and moat) surrounding a beautifully proportioned castle. Quite crowded on the Friday we visited. Each floor of the 6 has a display about the castle and historic figures of its time, plus some artworks.

The view of the city from the top of the castle is great. The exhibits are interesting, with signs in both English and Japanese. There were some interactives that were in Japanese only. The surrounding park is beautiful; during my visit, many flowers were blooming.

We were amazed by the history. It is beautiful and a must see. To be in a place with such incredible history. You can almost feel the history and the battles nearby. Amazing.

Tip: visit during Sakura session, it's beautiful. The park has one section with row and row of sakura trees. It can be crowded though, but hey, enjoy the festive atmosphere and relax!

Close to railway line. Museum is a bit light on and mostly in Japanese. Great parks around the castle which are worth exploring.

Has been rebuilt but still interesting as there are lots of artefacts to see inside, such as samurai costumes etc.

Put on your walking shoes, its a long walk. For those who appreciate the heritage , then you would enjoy the sight. Unfortunate for me , I came 2 weeks late , the cherry blossom has 'finished' if not the area would be beautiful .

Cherry blossom at is best, we got there the morning of our arrival, took a taxi from Dotonbori, about a thousand yens, and spent the day visiting the castle and its park which were particularly beautiful at this time of the year. We were lucky as the cherry blossom were 12 days early than last year...mother nature has it all... More
