A short walk from my hotel. The food is incredible. make sure you try kakuni-manju (marinated braised pork cutlet served in a steamed bun) from one of the street vendors.

I ended up not eating in this area, but I enjoyed walking around and looking at it. The first restaurant I saw, right across from my hotel, had a hostess waiting behind the desk giving you a glare that seemed to say "I dare you to come in here." I gave it a wide berth, believe me. Maybe next time...

I was here during the Lantern Festival and the whole area was very vibrantly decorated. The casterra, pork sandwiches, and other food available all over were cheap and delicious, and good souvenirs abounded.

Located right in the middle of downtown. There is the typical gate entrance then a short couple of blocks.
Clearly authentic but having been in others I felt there was more to see so only strolled through. Would not go out of my way to explore.
