Located at the tip of Intramuros, Fort Santiago is an attraction in a similar vein, with old battlements and worn stone walls. Fantastic gardens are a real highlight, and the different areas inside Fort Santiago are all very well marked. This is a moving place to visit. A lot of history from Spanish times to WW2 - the gardens are well kept and it really is pleasant to stroll around and after enjoy a cool drink at the cafe. More

Finally was able to visit the place where I read only in history books. The grounds where wonderful. And it feels like I could glimpse what its like at the end of the Spanish era in the Philippines. It's a place to learn a little bit of history in the Philippines. More

You have to do the tour, that way you get the history and it all has meaning. Then you will be glad you went, the area and fort is beautiful, amazing grounds with gardens etc. Our tour guide was informative and funny. I had a great time and was very happy I went More

A small fee will gain you entrance to this military landmark. This small piece of land holds a significant place in the history of the Philippines. Much happened here over the centuries--from the Muslims to Chinese pirates to Spanish, British, American and Japanese occupations. There are efforts to preserve the turn of the century charm of these place and the surrounding areas. I hope they also focus on the aesthetics of the place so as not to dilute the look and feel of the place. Maintenance and upkeep should be improved and the displays make it a little more interactive. We went for an evening event, so saw it all by floodlight and with fireworks! Beautiful park and wheelchair accessible paths. Rizal chapel memorable. Very interesting aspect of the history of Manilla. More

Old Fort. Old Fort OLD Fort. Open at 8am but not really worth a visit unless just to have sight seeing. My trip is on Good Friday (April 6 ,2012) this Old Fort is Closed so i went there on April 8, 2012. Nothing much to see. More
