We go to NC Zoo at least once per year because this is our favorite zoo. Plenty of trees and shade and animals are well cared for in natural exhibits. This year we saw the dinosaur exhibit which was fantastic. Everything was animitronic and made them seem life-like. One of the dinosaurs sprays and the kids loved it. We have... More

The zoo was laid out amazingly and I can't wait for it to expand. The price is reasonable. It's a small animal selection but the exhibits are very well done. The afternoon feeding times are laid out so you can see most of them in one day. We saw a few animals up close that we haven't seen due to... More

We took our one year old son to the zoo for his first birthday. He was still a bit young to enjoy everything, but loved running around and people watching. I was a bit disappointed at the number of things still under renovation. My biggest complaint is the food! We had to wait half an hour to get a slice... More

there are animals to look at, a kids zone that is being renovated, playground, they have a bee exhibit where the bees are flying in from outside making honey. It's easier to ride the tram from one area to the other unless you are looking to get some exercise. It is pretty big, pack a lunch in a backpack and... More

My wife and I visited the NC Zoo in Asheboro the first weekend in May and the weather was cool and overcast. This did not take anything away from our visit as we spent over 4 1/2 hours visiting both the Africa and North America areas of the park. The Zoo facilities were amazingly clean and well maintained. The staff... More

The Asheboro zoo is a wonderful experience for young and old alike. The wide selection of exotic birds and animals provides a step into Nature like being on the African Savannah. Plan to come early in the morning as certain animals are more active at that time. Plan a picnic for a delightful Family Day.

Fist time visit, we had a blast, it was way bigger than I thought it would be and so well done. The Dinasaur visit is sooo worth it, so fun. Get ready walk a lot, late afternoon all the school kids were gone and all the animals were showing off. we had a wonderful time.

The zoo is always a great place to spend the day with family. My kids love to go explore and enjoy the special promotions and events. If you live within a couple house, I highly recommend a season pass. Today we walked through the dinosaur exhibit, it was well done and offered something to make up for the fact that... More

A must see for everyone. No cages, no bars....A stunning habitat has been created for each species in the zoo. Lots and lots of walking, but the tram is available to take you from one are to the other. Just stunning.

I have been visiting the NC Zoo for years. I have always enjoyed it and support it. It is nice to see animals in much more natural habitats than many other zoos I visit. As many people have commented, your are advised to go early. The park does get crowded by lunchtime. With the addition of the Dino exhibit (Spring/Summer... More
