It is so very sad. Pacing animals are on the process of going insane. Does no one care? They need freedom. They should be in a wild animal sanctuary. Animals are in jail with unnatural surroundings. Wish they could be rescued. Heartbreak.

What a great little zoo. The animals were active; the staff were roving around and engaged; inquires were answered with enthusiasm and a smile. Giraffe feeding area was fun to watch, those long tongues! Flamingo were sitting on mud nests; others were very active. Ocelots were roaming, purring, growling and even touched noses. in the retile house the snakes were... More

This zoo is a great way to spend the afternoon! Our three girls had a great time as we spent most of a Saturday there. The Zoo Train is fun and educational. The indoor areas provide a nice escape from the heat of West Texas. The Catclaw Creek area is impressive because it teaches children about the animals native to... More

The Abilene Zoo is a true gem! The zoo staff are knowledgeable and have worked hard to improve the zoo each year. The zoo is just the right size for a family visit. You don't have to spend 8 hours to tour the zoo and the habitats are very nice. I can't recommend this zoo enough. The highlight of each... More

I loved the Abilene Zoo and I've been to zoos all over the world. Recently I had an opportunity to take a senior special needs adult to the zoo. It was set up so very well for all her needs. The exhibits were well labeled with great information about all of the animals. We had several opportunities to speak with... More

This zoo is not very large, but it is very clean, open and has a good amount of exhibits. The cost is very cheap compared to most city zoos we visit. The animals were all easily seen and active. Feeding the giraffes is the highlight and they have done a great job of limiting to only 2 food tokens per... More

Several parts are closed or animals are off exhibit because of construction on a new "Caribbean" themed section. Today was a great day for animal activity because it has warmed up some. This was the largest crowd I've seen at the zoo today, probably because of spring break and great weather. Updates at the zoo are making this a really... More
