This building is just amazing and to think that all the granite is from the town quarries. Just incredible... rivals the whitehouse.

I have seen better. I have seen worse. The grounds are nice, but they don't have any parking. I hear the the squirrels will eat nuts right out of your hand, but I did not try that.

I've been many times, but the beauty and history still amaze me every time. Just a few blocks down from all the shopping and bars. Best part is its free and very well air conditioned :)

Again a great place to visit. From the outside the building resembles St Pauls Cathedral in London. Join one of the guided tours (all timed)

Taller than the Whitehouse. Beautiful structure and architecture. Ha Ha! Learn the R-e-a-l history of Texas rather than the stereotype version.

Take the time go walk up to the top of the rotunda. The view is quite impressive. The grounds are lovely and the volunteers and staff all were extremely warm and helpful.

You should definitely plan to stop here on a visit to Austin. Beautiful building, informative visitors center. W had fun just walking around the grounds. There is free parking available in the visitors garage, which is a block away.

This is a grand old capital building - if you are in Austin, do go see it. Be sure to check out the huge paintings as you enter the building at the South Entrance- they really give you a sense of the history of Texas. Take your kids - it is an important piece of history- park at the visitors center it is free for 2 hours - you can go to other places and not have to worry about parking
