I love climbing up...not a bad trek at all, and looking out over one of the most beautiful vistas in Austin. Great place for a date.

It is a big hill with a wonderful view out west, south of Austin. No climbing gear required, still a work in progress
A must for residences and visitors alike. It's a pretty steep climb up several steps, but the reward is the incredible view. Just can't be beat.
Not sure why a lot of people say it's "quite a hike" because it's a a very easy hike up to the top. My friend "hiked" it in 3 inch heels lmao. Anyway, once you reach the top it's a gorgeous view of the city and the lake below. You should visit here whether you are a tourist or live...

I love going to Mt. Bonnell to relax, hike around and enjoy the view of Austin and the lake. It's truly beautiful and reminds me why I love Austin so much. It's a great place to take pictures, pray or meditate, or take a picnic.
There used to be a better view of the city but the trees grew up. New railings added for your protection and view obstruction. A must see for visitors and tourists. Please remember to read the history about this local site.

There's a picnic table or various spots that...

Lots of stairs to hike up and down for great view of Lake Austin. Was my first time here, but hubby shared many memories of his times here many years ago.
Best place in Austin to show visitors the lake and if you hike far enough the view back to downtown. It is dusty up there but the views are sublime (though I remember when the views were less cluttered - lots of houses on those hillsides now)
