We did this a couple years ago and hard a great time. They have changed launch locations and made it much longer. It no longer is a leisure trip but quite a workout. The bats are an amazing sight.

We decided to rent kayaks to paddle town lake on a recent trip to Austin. We rented a tandem kayak and a single. The owner was funny, personable and educational - someone we would certainly rent from again. The kayak trip was awesome - it was really nice to paddle down Town Lake. The views of downtown Austin were really...

Our family recently did the kayak bat tour while visiting Austin. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We met at the kayak shop about a mile south of the Congress Bridge. There is free parking and it is easy to get to and from. After the group for the evening assembled, we were given paddles, PFDs and...

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time on lady bird lake this past Saturday! The husband and wife team that make up this business are fantastic! They paid attention to details, made sure we were well equipped and informed and they offer a very very fair rate per hour.
The best thing? How secluded their entrance is to the...

We did the night tour to see the bats, and we were not disappointed! Casey, the owner and operator, was a great host. He was helpful and informative, and he was good at accommodating all skill levels with kayaking. His style is to let you travel the lake at your own pace. It was a great way to see the...

My husband and I spent a day in Austin and really wanted to do something fun and outdoorsy. We saw that Live Love Paddle was highly rated and was a great, if not the best, way to see the Congress Avenue Bats. Casey, the owner, was a very friendly and fun tour guide. Me being a first time kayaker, he...

This was a major highlight of our trip to Austin. Anyone wanting a guaranteed view of the bats and isn't afraid of getting a little wet has to do this. I say a guarantee because the tour depends on it, and depending on the time of night the bats decide to leave, it may be hard to see them from...

We loved our kayak trip to Congress Bridge. The one mile trip back and forth was just the right length, and the view of the bats at around 8:15pm was amazing! Our guide, Casey, had good knowledge of the bats and Austin in general, and he made our trip comfortable and memorable - can't say enough...so glad we did this!
When we visited Austin, we knew that part of the trip was going to see the bats at dusk leave the Congress Bridge. At first, we were going to just walk on the bridge and view the bats from above but after a little research, we decided to take the kayak tour and see the bats from below. Sure glad...

I've been several times to Live Love Paddle. Casey is super nice (and knowledgeable when it comes to bat facts, kayaking, and Texas history in general).
I recommend the evening bat tour. It's the best time of the day in Austin and you learn a lot. You get a view of the bats that no one else will see, especially...
