Beautiful Gardens, love the way they are set out, even herb gardens and fairy gardens. Unfortunately, when we were there, they were desperately in need of some rain. I did happen to see a dragon ?? which I was told was quite rare. Lovely few hours in these gardens.

Zilker Botanical garden is always a wonderful visit -- but there are less flowers & shrubs in bloom, and it would be nice if the City would add more "summer-blooming" color . If you like looking and yards and yards of ferns--this is your stop. The few flowers we saw were DEAD and needed a replanting of seasonal flowers such as petunias/zinnias. The city owns this--why do they not make it beautiful? We just didn't get it!!!

The gardens are a nice break from the rest of the active areas in the park. There is a nice path that follows the water feature throughout the gardens. Stop in the small shop at the front to read about the creation of the gardens.

We stopped at the botanical gardens one hot afternoon and were pleased walking around in the shade. Not much in bloom but we enjoyed the dinosaur garden and the historic buildings. Worth a trip to stroll through -- even small kids enjoyed - great photo opportunities for the family/kids. After a cold dip in the Barton Creek Pool -- we enjoyed warming up and drying off here.
