I've seen several shows here, the accoustics are fantastic! One of the best venues in town!
Such a beautiful facility in the heart of downtown, from amazing photography on the mezzanine level and artifacts all over the place going way back into Austin's music scene, such a cool place to enjoy great music, drink and best of times. If you want to make an impression take a friend there!
Everyone knows that Atx is the go to place for live music. Unfortunately this particular event brings every drunk and obnoxious persons to Atx. The city becomes full of trash and the more events we see like this, the worse it is for our environment. Our downtown lake becomes the trash collector and often the events seem to be lacking... More
I had been to the old Austin City Limits back in 2003. It was right on UT campus. But this was my first experience at the new ACL on Willie Nelson Blvd. We saw Martina McBride. The atmosphere was very relaxed. The sound was great. She put on a super show. She'd stop and just talk to the audience. They'd... More
If you enjoy great live music, being outdoors, and people watching, $200 will get you three full days of it. That is of course if you are able to get the tickets which are promptly sold out. Didn't get any tickets? Avoid buying from online scalpers. Just show up at the venue and be ready to negotiate. You chances of... More
I had known about ACL for many years from the tv show, and waas determined to visit it on vacation. I was lucky enough to hook up with tickets to the star-studded Johnny Cash tribute concert, with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and many others. Needless to say, it was a great concert. The new theater is modern and sophisticated, with... More
The photo gallery was phenomenal; especially the private photo gallery on the 3rd. A great venue for most events. HIghly recommend.
I am sure if you have never been to a taping, that a visit will be special. What I miss is the intimacy of the old studio. It is great that more people have an opportunity to attend, but the new place just lacks the feel of the original studio. Still, it is fun to go to a taping and... More
You can get tickets to the Austin city limits shoes. I volunteered to answer phones during their pledge drive for the public television station KLRU. The set of Austin city limits is attached to the studio we where in. They serve Ziginbach beer during the shows. Very proud to have been associated with them. Get the tour.
