This is a beautiful area of Goa which is part of its Latin Quarter. Most of the houses here are very old, and maintained as one of the heritage areas in Goa. It lovely to stroll around the place, enjoy the little cafes, quaint curio shops for a variety of handicrafts and various other stores. Good area to take some... More

Bairro das Fontainhas - It still maintains its Portuguese influence. Walk along the narrow streets, with old colourful villas and enjoy the old ambience, Portuguese style!

This place located in the heart of the capital city of Panjim is slightly hard to find but once you're there its a photographer's dream. We spent the whole day walking through this colonial style neighbourhood clicking pictures and having snacks and tea at the local cafe.It was a memorable experience.

The buildings here are of colonial Portuguese style. The back streets are fairly quite and there are a few nice shops, restaurants and galleries dotted around. It is only a short walk into the main square and you can easily get to most places on foot.

Piece of portuguese colonial architecture with local colorite. Not very easy to find, only sixth driver knew location when we were some 7 mins walk from there. Make sure your guide is good before going to Panjim

Nice Colorful structures you get to see when in fontainhas. This was our second trip to fontainhas. Loved it. People were carrying big Easter egg on a trailer. The one you saw in the song 'My name is Anthony Gonsalves'. Really nice winding lanes. It is best to walk or take a small car or two wheeler when scouting the... More

Loved the types of buildings, architecture, reminded me the British rule and Portuguese empire in Goa. Fontainhas offers a good environment to be there. If you are in Panjim (Panaji), it is a must visit place and I suggest you to walk around and see the beauty of Goa.
