I got to go when it was very quiet. A big rain came down in the morning, so all the full day trips were cancelled. So, I took a longtail tour in the afternoon. Hardly anyone was there and it was pretty spectacular.

Rent a longtail boat from ko phi phi don for around 1500B for 3 hours at 8am in the morning and go straight to maya bay. There will be very less people and no day trip people yet. You can have the whole beach to yourself and enjoy the beautiful maya bay.
We went to Maya Bay May 2013 and booked a day excursion from one of the many travel agents in Phi Phi. The cost was 400 baht for a half day excursion to maya bay in a Long Boat which included breakfast and lunch. There was also the same deal in a speed boat which was at 1500 baht.

One of the most beautiful beaches that I have ever seen - unfortunately it was very busy and covered in rubbish dropped by lazy tourists, but still a must-do!
Booked a tour from Khao Lak for 2400THB. The place has heavily cashed on Di Caprio's movie 'The Beach'! Went on a speedboat which takes nearly an hour and you do get bored and sleepy but once you see the cliffs and the turquoise blue sea you forget everything else! Yes,its crowded but you won't mind. The area is totally...

You get what you're willing to do and what you pay for!
Did you book a cheap tour to get to this beach with 100s of other tourists? Don't be disappointed in Maya Bay! Be disappointed with your decision not to book a private boat to this beach at sunrise! Get your butt out of bed for 6am and do...
