Stay to the right of the bay and in shallow water you will see many small black type reef sharks. Very exciting and not scary as they are just 30-40 cms each.

We got to Thian Og by scooter but had quite a trek down to the beach through what looked like a construction site (new resort being built?). The beach was nice enough, sandy and quiet-ish but the snorkelling was nothing special. The water was murky and despite swimming right out to the edge of the bay, the coral was nearly...

Our favorite beach with trees that provide shade on the hot days. We found the water much more calm than on the eastern beaches.
Beach was alright, quite a lot of litter, lots of mosquito's at dusk. We got a taxi from sairee for 500 baht, one of the restaurants offered a taxi service but this was 1200 baht back and the driver was incredibly drunk!Lucky we had a card for the taxi we arrived in.

Great spot for snorkelling and diving! Amazing beach with white sand. You can rent kayak right off the beach. Get one and go snorkelling further out, you will see more stuff!
but shame about the muddy bottom and wate nearly too warm. good place to snorkel but must swim out quite far though.

This beach was the spot that would never let you down if you want to see some black reef tips. It is so amazing to see these animals this close....I expected an adrenaline rush but I found it was more relaxing to watch these graceful creatures. If you are in Koh Tao you have to see it!
