You can be a traveler who has already visited the cultural city Kandy in Sri Lanka. But have you been there to witness the grandest cultural pageant of all, in the in the month of August the Kandy Perehera. It is a procession of all the Kandyan dance forms presented by at least a thousand young and veteran dancers alike.... More

The lake is near the Temple of the Tooth and very close to where the Kandyan Cultural Dancing show is, so we did pop down to the lake while we were there. I noticed in the shallows there were hundreds of little fish, even though there were Egrets wading around - it looked like safety in numbers as the egrets... More

Nice to escape some of the hustle of the streets of Kandy and spend some time by the lake. Good for photographs during the day and by night. There are boat trips around the lake which I wish I had time to do. Overall pleasant way to spend an hour whilst in the city.

Such a pleasant way to watch the sun go down before wandering into town to eat. So much wildlife and lots of locals and visitors just promenading...this could be Northern Spain!

Lovely walk around the lake but some is a bit dirty. Can get harrassed on bridge at city end by opportunists

Lovely quiet and pretty area to walk and catch your breath in a busy city. Take care not to walk there after dark if you are a female on your own.

Too hot to & too big to walk around we took a tuktuk round most of the lake & into the surrounding hills for the view. Well worth the 300 ruppees we paid & some nice bars & restaurants along the way. Houses a large quantity of pretty big fish which the locals feed & presumably don't taste nice. Good... More

Beautiful but I was followed around it on more than one occasion (being a single female traveller here was a challenge).

Kandy lake is creating a very nice view to both the ancient Tooth temple and Kandy city. Fish feeding near the lake is common, you also can feed big bunch of fishes at time with pleasant surprise. But this lake is not for Bath. You can get a boat ride at a cost from lake counter.

It is nice to wander on the edge of the lake if the weather is good. Trees create shadows which protect you from heat/sun. Nothing spectacular to see. From the temple to the cultural theater is enough. Il est agréable de marcher le long du lac si le temps est beau. Les arbres offrent de l'ombre qui permet de supporter... More
