You can spend the whole day in this place. There are many activities, specially for children. The galleries are extensive with plenty of things to interact with. Much better than the Science city. The canteen is poor and not clean but it is possible to go out to have a proper meal and come back without paying the entrance again.

BITM has lots of science experiments which make it a fun place. The shows are also good. But would recommend a day in Science City over this.

I had visited Birla Industrial and Technological Museum in Kolkata in the past but went this time especially for the children of my sister as I considered it an appropriate place for growing up children. Entry ticket was Rs.15 per head and there were a host of interests for the children like scientific shows including the Taramandal, transportations, 3D shows,... More

The kids section on the 2nd floor is fantastic, however some of the older science exhibits in the other building were not working or needed to be updated. The coal mine is a unique experience.

I have reached with my family at 2 p.m. on 28th Dec'12. Entry ticket is Rs.15/ per head. There are various scientific shows such as Taramandal, 3D shows, Transportation, etc those have different timings & different rate of tickets. But most of the shows are houseful.I have managed two shows tickets: 1) Super cool bodies @ Rs.4/head 2) Coal mine @Rs.10/head. The museum... More

I have visited this place when I was a kid, then when my sister was a kid,and now with my sister's son who has turned 7 years now!! It was made for growing up kids who want to know and learn and still have immense fun.But these days the possible lack of funds and upkeep can be observed everywhere. Most of... More

Children, or the elderly, who find it difficult to assimilate scientific phenomena, should visit this place for some clarity in the matter. The only place in the city to familiarise with the insides of a coal mine.

.... and I remember visiting this place whenever I was in Kolkata as a kid. I used to drool over the miniature car model and the video game consoles!
