Great place with all sorts of fabric, cloths, designs, all under one roof (sheltered and air-conditioned)... Just pick your cloth and your clothing will be tailor made for you. Almost all shops provide the same services, so remember to bargain! I bought a cheongsum and a dress for 250rmb each. It was ready for collection in 2 days. Recommended to... More

If you are in Shanghai and want a leather jacket South Bund fabric markets is the place. The various styles are displayed and this makes it much easier to decide. We paid 1000 rmb (AU$150) for ladies jackets in fine leather. The jacket is beautiful and no fittings before delivery. Shop no 165 on the ground floor was excellent. It took... More

If you need a custom suit, shirts, coat etc this is the place to come. It worth going around a bunch of the booths and working out what the ballpark prices should be before focusing in on the one you want. Prices seem pretty consistent, so go for the ones that seem to have the best quality for what you... More

If you have 3 days in Shanghai, you could pretty much tailor anything at this market. Make your first stop here. Some tailors are even willing to let you collect on the second day. If it doesn't fit, then there is sufficient time for alterations and you can collect on the 3rd day. If you do not have sufficient time... More

I have bought 5 custom tailored suits, and 6 shirts here over the last 15 months. Pretty much every trip I make to Shanghai I will go and get something at this market. I love this place - it's a big building with lots of merchants inside pretty much selling you exactly the same thing. Each stall has 1 or... More

Make this an earily stop during your stay in Shanghai. You will almost certainly want to have some clothing tailor-made in this place and being able to come back over several days for fittings will greatly help. This is a four story building with about 50 independent booths per floor. Take your time and look at the material and style... More

Walking around this area is a great Shanghai experience where clothing manufacturing divides a very fine line between extreme poverty and "doing okay". This might be an "attraction" for us tourists but definitely not to the locals. It is their life I was caught in a downpour and enjoyed waiting it out with the locals. Ended up stumbling onto a...
