We loved walking along admiring the contrast between the new buildings of Pudong and the historic buildings on The Bund.

At night most of the buildings on both sides of the river are illuminated with moving light displays and the river filled with illuminated boats. The views from one of the trip boats is even better. Not to be missed.
A beautiful stroll. Not crowded at night and the the ligts on the other side of the river are fabulous.
After walking the bund, we decided to try the other side. This time you have the skyscraper right above you.
Its a wide, long promenade, that sits direct on the river.

Nice to stroll along, although it can be very busy at weekends. Watch out for photo touts who can be a little tiring at times.
Superb, excellently done waterfront and riverside walk. Its mesmerizing to just stroll along the riverside walk. We went both during the day as well as the night time and enjoyed the walks thoroughly. Its crowded almost anytime in the day. A must see if your are in Shanghai ...
I like the design of the walk way and the view along the Promenade fllled with modern towers on the opporsite side. Sitting there for a while and enjoy to view is worth the time
I visited promenade a few times and enjoyed all. You will have nice view, many people around, cafes and vertical gardens. Both sides are nice and picturesque. River side is modern with tower and the other side with mixture of modern and classical buildings. Don't miss 22:00 - all lights shouted down. The late evening is more colorful, enjoy.
The views are great and we loved the array of the cafes and restaurants. We even tried Starbucks here which was excellent! Although it was a nice place to walk around, we prefer the views from the Bund.
Not many cities can rival the view across the river. It's modern China at its most gregarious and opulent.
