For new visitors my name is Elias, I am the tour guide at this center, Danaus. In this post I want to leave some information about our services, cost and tour options. First the tour takes place in one small natural reserve (3 hectares of secondary forest). Inside the forest you will find one small butterfly farm, two areas where... More

My wife and I came here on our recent trip to the area. We did a basic tour of the grounds without a guide in the interest of saving money. We arrived very early, I think we were they first people there that day, and took our time meandering through the grounds (albeit small, but still inviting) checking out the... More

This was a great little nature tour with the very knowledgable guide Elias. His enthusiasm and obvious love of this place were well worth the trip here. We saw sloths, several birds, reptiles and butterflies. I don't advise going without a guide unless you are a spotter yourself, you will miss too much. More

Such a nice lady who started this place from scratch. It's amazing how much has grown from almost nothing. Everything living in harmony. We got to see a Sloth carrying a baby close up. It was awesome! The guide was great and they don't cost extra. More

It was better than I expected. It was part of a group day tour that we went on with others from our hotel, and it was the first stop. Our group guide acted as our tour guide there, which worked out very well as she was well informed and often referred to her books to show us reference images. Going... More

Despite the rainy conditions we enjoyed our tour, learned both about the wildlife and the indigenous Indian tribe. More

My wife and I have nothing but great things to say about this place. In fact, we can't stop talking about it ever since we came back from Costa Rica. We did La Fortuna waterfall in the morning that day and it was about 2:30 PM in the afternoon by the time we finished lunch. This left us with very... More

We spent 2 or 3 hours at the center and really enjoyed it. We did not use a guide, but had our binoculars and bird book with us. I think the trick is to take it SLOWLY. We moved quietly and slowly, really taking the time to look at all the weird and interesting plants and flowers. By doing so,... More

We drove ourselves to the site and had a private tour with one of the guide. We get to see sloth, crocodiles, heron, red poisonous frogs, green frog, etc. The butterflies in the conservatory was fabulous, they have about 12 species in there and they also showed you the different stages of the butterfly. Highly recommended if you have young... More
