I was so eager to get in a ride that I was up, showered, had had breakfast and ready to go at 6.30am. Well, it was also the fact that we were perched on the beach with noisy sea otters chatting away and that it was midsummer! Our guide drove us to meet Mark, a resident cowboy. He originally came... It was a reasonably priced 4 hour round trip horseback ride. That was a long time for a beginner and I was so sore after we got back that I could barely sit (for days), but I would do it again. Mark was very nice and his horses were very well-behaved. The scenery was beautiful and his cute little sheltie... More

This was a highlight of our entire Alaskan experience and that's saying a lot! Mark is a genuine guy, a real outdoorsman who's incredably knowledgabe about the local area and all of Alaska. He knows each of his horses very well and is able to maintain control of horses and riders throughout the trip! He also entertains with his stories... More

We heard about Trail Ends through a bartender at the Salty Dawg. She was a personal friend of Mark's and sold us on going. Mark fit us in at the last second, and stopped to grab extra horses along the way. He told us his own cowboy-poetry while climging the hills home from our ride. The horses were great! I... More

I hadn't ridden in years, but this half-day trail ride was the highlight of my brief stay in Homer! Mark was a great guide, who put everyone at ease regardless of riders' experience levels. The horses themselves were great too - so well trained, beautiful, and patient. The landscape was absolutely breathtaking - I was in awe of the beauty... More

Mark takes great care of his horses and has them very well-trained. You get a good long ride with beautiful views.

If you want a real horseback experience with a knowledgeable and entertaining cowboy this is a wonderful value for the money! We went out with Mark on a recent trip to Homer and even though it was raining had a blast! I have been riding for years, and my husband is a beginner and Mark made both of our rides... More

Rode with my family a party of 9. Mark is the real deal, an Alaskan cowboy. The horses were great, they handled the 700 foot drop to the tidal flats with ease. We were able to ride side by side and talk as we rode, not your ordinary trail ride. Mark was great telling us stories as we rode. Only... More

We are a family of four we two 11 year olds so we did not know what to expect when we arrived at Trails End. It was in the middle of nowhere. The trip could not have been better. We went 13 miles that included hills, some steep, beachfront and narrow trails. While it was a leisurly walk, we did... More

My 10-year old daughter and I took this ~5 hour trail ride and absolutely loved it. My daughter has been riding horses for 5 years so she's quite competent and she had the time of her life. The scenery is beautiful, Mark and Lime (his helper) were a lot of fun, the horses were in great shape and happy, and... More
