We were very pleased with the quality of the center. Most visitors centers don't have the beautiful displays that this one did. It was more like a local museum - and free!

It was free to us. Go there. It is worth it. Nice exhibits and nice films. It does not take long to see everything as it is a small museum. Go esp. if you want to learn more about the geography of the Kenai peninsula and origin of fish and local birds.

Not to mention FREE! This is a great place to start your Homer experience. Walk through the displays at the end of which you can enter upon a beach walk - right out the back door!
A great way to spend some time learning about the region. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and willing to help out. The nature trail is a must-take trip. You can get real close to the wildlife on the trail. Just got to see an owl up close this afternoon.
Very limited on the exhibitions. Once you have seen it there's no reason to return unless you have a visitor you are showing around. Needs more wildlife viewing such as the Seward Marine Center- which by the way could have been one of Homer's major attractions. This is a great place to park and eat a hamburger.
Fun thing to do on the weekend!! Very informative,be sure to bring your camera and take pictures, always a good activity to bring children to.
Enjoyed our visit here! So cute and just a very nice community kind of place. Definitely worth stopping in and checking out!
Be sure to stop in ... I think it's free. There is a lot to be learned about the local area and the Alaska Maritime Refuge. It is done very well. The price is right!
The center is huge and very educational but I most enjoyed the trail behind the center where a pair of Sandhill Cranes had two young they were raising. Nice gift shop there also.
