This experience was a once in a lifetime look at one of the world's most scenic and uninhabited places. Flying over an old water filled volcano crater or moving down through a river valley with high walls of trees on either side while "inspiring" music is playing in your headset was so fulfiling. The Misty Fjord area is very large... More

Reminded me of Norway. The cliffs were beautiful and reminded me of my cruise to Norway a number of years ago.

There are two ways to see the Misty Fjords. Both are worth the trip. if you have time take a float plane trip to the Misty's and get on Allen Marines fast catamaran and take the boat trip. The trips are magnificent and very different from each other.

Take an Alaskan cruise on the small boats (under 200 people) and be sure to include this most beautiful remote place. Indeed the most quiet place I have ever been on earth with clouds hanging low at sunset. The only access into this park is by water.

We took a float plane from Ketchikan to Misty Fjord -- a DeHavilland Beaver. There were six of us and we all had wonderful views. The pilot was professional and knowledgeable and while we didn't see wildlife, we saw one of the most beautiful and pristine areas in the world. The pilot set the plane down on the lake so... More

We had mixed feelings about this tour. Whilst it basically ‘did what it said on the tin’ (i.e was a cruise through the misty fjords national park), there was no focus on wildlife which the website had led us to believe there would be. Amazingly, we did see a pod of orca but, frustratingly, we didn’t stay with them for... More

Took an 8 passenger float plane from Ketchikan to the Misty Fjords. They aren't called misty for no reason! Rising above the fog in the plane was a spectacular view of forested mountains, waterfalls, creeks, fog filled valleys. Just amazingly beautiful! Even saw a large black bear down by one of the creeks! The pilot was very knowledgeable about the... More

It is a must-do when you are in Ketchikan. We went with Island Wings on a beautiful sunny day, (which was a rare occasion), so we missed most of the 'mist' of the area. Michelle Masden, the owner of Island Wings flew us out. The view from the floatplane was absolutely breathtaking. We made a landing in one of the... More
