A perfect place for a family get together. I was impressed at how well maintained it was. Great place for bird watching. Although there are restaurants there my suggestion would be to use the opportunity to pack a marvellous picnic and take it all in.
Great place for day out, with good restaurant just outside of it, another one inside(with very reasonable prices!), so green!:), with ducks wandering around, places to seat and relax, or to have a family picnic Definitely will be back, in autumn, to see the garden in beautiful colours
Excellent flora superbly maintained. Yet another attraction the city of Tshwane can be proud of. refreshments available on site allow for a few hours on this visit depending on your appreciation .
Great selection of fauna, perfect place for a picnic or lunch at the cafe. Lovely spot for bird watching.
We attended a wine festival there, which was too crowded in the size tent it was in, but we sat on the lawn, and walked around the gardens. I don't think I'd have to return to see the gardens again.
The Pretoria National Botanical Gardens is well maintained and very people friendly. It has a range of biotopes to explore and many places where groups can enjoy picnics, or eat at one of the two restaurants. A formal restaurant is situated adjacent to the parking area and a more casual place is near to the waterfall and wedding venue.
Calm, peaceful and absolutely relaxing. Excellent picnic venue but note that they don't allow balls, bicycles... suggest you phone & check what is acceptable to the park.
We travel all over the world visiting gardens. This one is a bare minimum. Nothing of major value to see other than the medicial plants. We spent three hours here, way too long. If in area, I would skip unless you need a green area to kick back and enjoy the lawn. There was no gift shop as advertized.
Great place for just relaxing, romantic walks, admiring plants for the serious botanist and just unwinding and picnics.Quite a bit of variety in such a small place and the water features are great.
